Jason Ritter is an American actor and film producer (born February 17, 1980). He is famous for his work on The Event, Joan of Arcadia, Raising Dion, Joan of Arcadia, Gravity Falls, and Frozen II.

He is best known for his role as Kevin Girardi in the television series Joan of Arcadia and as Sean Walker in the NBC series The Event. Ritter has also appeared in the films Swingers, The Butterfly Effect, and Step Brothers.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Ritter is the son of actors Nancy Morgan and John Ritter. His grandfather, Tex Ritter, was a country music singer and actor. Ritter began his acting career in the early 1990s with guest appearances on the television series Roseanne and Blossom.
Ritter’s breakout role came in 2003 with the television series Joan of Arcadia, in which he played the lead role of Kevin Girardi, a teenage boy who God visits. The series earned Ritter a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series. He continued to play the role for two seasons until the series was canceled in 2005.
In 2006, Ritter appeared in the film Swingers as Mike Peters, a struggling actor. Ritter’s next role was in the film The Butterfly Effect, where he played Evan Treborn, a young man who can change the past with his memories. Ritter has also appeared on stage, starring in the Broadway production of The Rivals in 2006.
