Jason Kidd is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is currently the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is considered one of the greatest point guards of all time and was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. He was a ten-time NBA All-Star, a five-time All-NBA First Team member, and a nine-time NBA All-Defensive Team member.
Early Life of Jason Kidd
Kidd was born on March 23, 1973 in San Francisco, California and grew up in Oakland, California. He attended St. Joseph Notre Dame High School in Alameda, California, where he was a member of the school’s basketball team, the Pilots. He then attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he played for the California Golden Bears basketball team for two years.
Kidd was selected by the Dallas Mavericks as the second overall pick in the 1994 NBA draft. He was named co-Rookie of the Year in his first season in the league, along with Grant Hill. He also won the NBA Skills Challenge in 1996.
